A Big Day

Yesterday was a pretty rough day for Menash and Nichole. They were able to go to the house and look for some salvageable items before the house was taken down. It sure was a bitter sweet trip. There were a few small items they found that brought them a bit of joy. This was followed by them finding the bodies of Nana and Emma (their cat). Very sad. They gave those precious little animals a proper burial and now can really begin the healing process.

The Petschers are doing well given the circumstances. Their mini van was totaled due to water damage from putting out the fire. Of course the family just rolled with the punch and are still just a positive happy bunch. After a few weeks of the kids being really sick with bronchitis and the flu, and Menash and Nichole's bumps and bruises, they are all on the mend and starting to feel much better. They have a temporary home that they have been able to stay in and have had lots of help from their family, friends, and complete strangers in the area and also from out of state. Thank you to everyone that has been there to physically help out.

They are a strong family and it's inspiring to hear them having such a positive attitude even knowing the challenges that still face them. Menash, Nichole, Madelyn, Lucy, and Nora want to pass along their thanks and gratitude again to anyone who has been praying for them, thinking about them, and those who have donated.

Lets all keep those prayers up for more physical and mental healing. They do make a difference and I know they are feeling the outpouring of love and support from you all. Thanks to you all again for everything.

Love,
The Petschers

An update on donations.

Thank you all for the donations that have been POURING in.  It can’t be said enough, but the support has been just incredible. The girls love the clothes, toys, and other gifts that have been sent to them!  Believe it or not they now have more clothes than before the fire and that is all thanks to you! Really, it has been such a blessing.

For now Madelyn, Lucy and Nora do not need anymore kids clothing, but other donations are still welcome. Since most of their possessions were lost in the fire or are still unaccounted for we do not have a specific list of what might be needed now or in the immediate future. Gift cards may be a good option if you do choose to make a financial donation.  Thank you all again for your prayers, love and support.

Menash and Nichole interview

Hello friends and family.
First off I want to thank you all for the donations and kind words you have all been passing along to my brother and his wife. We all knew times would be tough and still will be, but nobody expected the outpouring of support from all of you INCREDIBLE people. The words "thank you" just do not seem to do justice for all of your kindness. But, for now, thank you. While I continue to pray for my family I also pray that you all are blessed for the kindness you are all showing.

Here is a link to an interview of Menash and Nichole by a local news channel in NY.

A message from Menash and Nichole.

Thank you all so very much for the contributions you have made. Our words can't come close to describing how grateful we are to our family, friends, and complete strangers that have gone out of thier way to make us feel whole again. It's during these times that we get to see how amazing people can be. It's hard to describe how thoughts and prayers from a friend or a total stranger can completely change your day. Thank you all so much.

The Petscher's Home - (Nana the Hero)

Menash and Nichole Petscher tragically lost their home early Monday morning to a house fire. Menash, Nichole, and their beautiful daugthers, Madelyn, Lucy, and Nora all made it out of the home safely thanks to some quick action by Menash and Nichole, and just as importantly because of their heroic dog named Nana. Nana woke Menash up when she noticed the fire and that bought them just enough time to get out of the house safely. Sadly, Nana did not survive the fire along with the rest of the Petscher's family possions. Also lost in the fire were their 2 cats.

Here is a news article about the incident.
